Games: Warhammer 40,000

There are some games that are very fast action, and while we didn’t benchmark them, we wanted to get a look at how the graphics rendered and the feel of the game. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a third-person action game that runs on both VMware Fusion and Parallels Desktop.

Warhammer played quite well in both environments on the MacBook Pro Retina. Parallels took longer to start the game, but once in it performed well and rendered graphics and action well. VMware rendered well most of the time, but there were a few occassions where we’d see “noise” or drop out pixels in certain objects. It didn’t happen often, and we couldn’t screen shot it. And while it didn’t impact play of the game, we did notice it when it occasionaly appeared.
