Apple gets an A+ in the ‘BusinessWeek’ annual customer service awards

Not only has Apple topped the “2010 Computer Reliability Report” from Rescuecom, it’s received two A pluses from “BusinessWeek” (http://bwnt.businessweek.com/interactive_reports/customer_service_2010/) its its annual (and fourth) customer service awards.

Apple received an A+ in both the quality of the staff at its retail stores and the efficiency of the store’s service. Our favorite tech company tallied an overall score of 1016.55. The only companies ahead of it were L.L. Bean (with a score of 1055.95) and USAA (1042.76).

Christian Kienle releases Ebbinghaus 3.2 for Mac OS X

Developer Christian Kienle has released Ebbinghaus 3.2 (http://christian-kienle.de/Ebbinghaus/) for Mac OS X. It’s an update of the US$20 flash card application with an iTunes-like user interface.

Version 3.2 offers the ability to resize the study window. When resizing the study window the current card becomes larger. Scrolling is now enabled in the study view.

CFA announces availability of CF5.0 spec

The CompactFlash Association (CFA) has announced the availability of the recently approved CF5.0 Specification.

The CF5.0 work group was formed in November, 2008 to add key features to the already popular CF4.1 specification based on the PATA (Parallel ATA) interface. The new CF5.0 specification adds the several key features/benefits to the memory card that started the digital photography revolution. General Electric rolls out new digital cameras

General Imaging (http://www.general-imaging.com/us/) is unveiling four new cameras, including new additions to the GE brand’s Power Series and Smart Series.

The GE E1486TW and E1480W are the latest additions to the Power Series. Both the E1486TW and E1480W sport the ability to film high-definition movies, 14-megapixel resolution, an 8X optical zoom and a 3-inch LCD screen. At only .83 inches thick, the cameras offer one of the slimmest 8X optical zoom performance in the market, says Paul Meyhoefer, General Imaging’s vice president of Marketing and Product Planning.
