Boris FX today announced the release of 18 real-time plug-ins for Avid’s Xpress DV nonlinear editing system. The plug-ins are available now as a free download to users of the Boris Continuum Complete AVX package. According to Boris’ announcement, this is the first time that a third-party developer has provided real-time effects capabilities using the native Avid effects interface. The real-time filters include: Basic Blur, Boost Blend, Brightness-Contrast, Color Balance, Colorize, Composite, Fast Flipper, Invert-Solarize, Levels Gamma, Linear Luma Key, Make Alpha Key, MultiTone Mix, PixelChooser, Posterize, Tritone, Mosaic, RGB Blend, and Two Way Key.
