BargainTravel.com, an online travel agency specializing in
international flights, has released Travel Toolkit for the iPhone (a
href=”http://www.bargaintravel.com/iphone_application_support.html).
It provides flight status, airport status, TSA alerts, ticket price
comparisons, airline phone numbers and airport codes.

Other features of the application include directions to airports via
Google Maps, current weather conditions at airports, departure and
arrival gates and more.

VMware, which makes virtualization solutions, has announced what it
says is the first open source client for virtual desktop
infrastructure, VMware View Open Client.

Outspring (http://www.outspring.com), makers of the Outspring Mail
email application, has announced Nomina for the iPhone. It allows a
user to enter a potential brand name and search a variety of sources
to see if that name is available for use. Nomina is available for
US$14.99 at the Apple App Store.

Once a potential name has been entered into the program, it will
conduct a search to determine if second level domains are available
(name.com, name.net, name.org) and can optionally check another 25
international domains (like co.uk and .com.fr).

MINI Financial Services has launched MINI Liquid Assets, a game for
the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s available for free at the Apple App
Store.

SmileOnMyMac has released an update for the Internet Productivity
snippet group in TextExpander, its customizable typing shortcut tool
for Mac OS X. With TextExpander, users can define abbreviations for
frequently-used text strings and images, also known as snippets.

When an abbreviation is typed, it expands automatically to the full
snippet. The Internet Productivity snippet group offers predefined
snippets that work with the URL shortening services via AppleScript
to automatically shorten URLs copied to the Clipbard.
