Apple posts Security Update for Snow Leopard

Apple has released Security Update 2010-006 Snow Leopard (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1105). The company says it’s recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X.

Security Update 2010-006 Snow Leopard is a 1.93MB download that requires Mac OS X 10.6.4. You can obtain it via the Software Update component of the Mac OS X Systems Preferences app.

Apple licensing intellectual property from Rovi

According to a filing with the US Security and Exchange commission (http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1424454/000142445410000030/form8-k0920.htm) Rovi Corp. (http://www.rovicorp.com) — a company that specializes in digital entertainment services — has entered into a multi-year agreement with Apple whereby Apple shall license intellectual property from Rovi.  The specific terms of the license agreement are confidential.

According to claims at the Rovi web site:

° Approximately 111 million subscribers and 91 million CE devices worldwide use their guidance technology.

Bible goes high tech

The recently released print version of The Almighty Bible – Genesis (first book in the graphic novel series) has been welcomed with a positive reception from teens, tweens, parents and grandparents in both Christian and secular communities. Now the team behind this project has announced the release of an app for the iPad and iPhone.

“It is our goal to create a tool that young people will be eager to revisit outside of Sunday school, youth group and Bible study sessions,” says Kevin O’Donnell co-producer of the project and creator of the award winning “Liberty’s Kids” from PBS.
