FoneLink allows easy integration of mobile phones in Mac OS X

Berlin, May 29th, 2007 — Up to now, using a mobile phone with Mac OS X has
one major disadvantage. It is close to impossible to manage the mobile
phone’s data from your operating system of choice. The Berlin-based
software developer nova media today unveiled a new software called
“FoneLink” to change this lack of Mac OS software support for mobile phones.

FoneLink is a mobile phone suite that allows to browse through the files of
a mobile phone, to transfer and convert music, fotos and videos as well as
to copy contacts, events and tasks, edit notes and bookmarks. A built-in
ringtone editor allows to create individual ringtones from any compatible
music file. Finally FoneLink manages to backup the mobile phone’s data and
to restore single files or a comprehensive backup.

“FoneLink features an assisstant to connect mobile phones via bluetooth and
USB in a snap.” states Jan Fuellemann, PR spokesperson at nova media. “This
was one of the few areas Windows was still ahead of Mac OS X, but now we
are closing the gap!”

The nifty mobile phone suite for Mac OS X consists of 4 main modules:

The “Mobile Finder” within FoneLink allows to browse the files on the
mobile phone and to drag and drop files from and to the phone. Mobile
Finder adds Smart Folders to have media files saved in the corresponding
place in the mobile phone, even on a mobile phone’s flashcard.

The “Organizer” makes its easy to look at contacts, events and tasks of a
mobile phone and exchange them with the Mac’s Address Book and iCal
applications. Bookmarks and notes on the phone can be edited and SMS
messages can be saved to the Macintosh.

The “Media Center” lets access media data from iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and
other programs. A smart conversion tool rotates and resizes images and
converts songs automatically to ensure they can be used on the phone.

A ringtone editor allows the creation of individual ringtones from any
compatible music file, featuring fade-in and fade out.

Last but not least, FoneLink has the ability to create a comprehensive
backup of a mobile phone’s data in the background. If the mobile phone or
its data gets lost, it is easy to restore single data files using drag and
drop or to restore a comprehensive backup using the restore command of Time
Tunnel.

FoneLink requires Mac OS X 10.4.9 or higher as well as a compatible mobile
phone.

The Software and the demoversion are available for download today at nova
media’s website http://www.novamedia.de.

FoneLink has a price tag of Euro 25,17 plus VAT. This price includes free
updates for one year beginning with the date of purchase.
