Kent Place Software today announced the release of BeerAlchemy 1.1, its beer recipe creation and archiving tool for Mac OS X. As well as introducing native support for Intel-based Macs, this release supports the import of recipes in the open BeerXML format and introduces a “novel approach” to ingredient shopping. Many existing features of the program have also been substantially improved based on user feedback. For example, the recipe editor has improved support for batches and now allows brewers to enter their all-grain recipes by percentage as well as by weight. The quick calculators have a sleek new look and feature a new refractometer tool. The already extensive databases of built-in ingredients have been revised and many new ingredients added. BeerAlchemy is priced at US$29.95.
