Stone Design ships iMaginator 2.0

Stone Design today announced the availability of iMaginator 2.0, a free upgrade of its image processing application.This release provides an interface for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger’s Core Image technology, giving both home users and graphics professionals access to over 108 effects, transitions, and filters. “iMaginator 2.0 is twice as fast as the original release by using OpenGL and CoreImage directly,” notes the announcement. “Paint can be applied on any number of layers with any size square or round brush.

LaCie announces new high-end LCD series

LaCie today announced it has expanded its 300 series of high-end LCD monitors with the 19” LaCie 319 Monitor, which the company says is “designed for graphics professionals who are serious about color rendering.” The new monitor features advanced S-IPS 19-inch TFT panel, maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 (SXGA), 178° viewing angles, 600:1 contrast ratio, 270 cd/m2 luminance, a color-enhancing hood, and blue eye pro calibration software.
