Doom 3 patch to be released this week

Aspyr today announced that it plans to release Doom 3 v1.3 patch later this week. Changes in this release include: preview of OpenAL audio support for 5.1 sound, better handling of keypad keys, fixed crashes with some mods, fixed crash on vid_restart, added PunkBuster anticheat support to multiplayer, better support for mods, and various PC bug fixes.

Analyst: ‘Apple Computer Set For Upside Q3’

A story on Forbes today notes that research firm Poper Jaffray has maintained an “outperform” rating on Apple, citing the expectation that the company’s sales are “expected to come in slightly above the Street consensus of US$3.3 billion on upside revenue for the iMac.” In addition, the firm said it expects Apple to post income above analysts’ consensus forecast for 31 cents per share, based on strong sales of Mac OS X Tiger.

Database Constructs releases Med-Center 4

Database Constructs has released an upgrade to their medical practice management suite Med-Center. Version 4.0 offers full support for Mac OS X Tiger and adds a double entry accounting module that is fully integrated with patient charging and accounts receivable. Also new with this release is an updated database engine that improves speed, has fault tolerant crash and recovery technology, automatic client updates (for client/server version), registration as a Macintosh OS X Service, and more.
