Monster today announced that it has partnered with SoundGate to produce and distribute the iCruze, a US$199.95 iPod accessory that allows consumers to play their music through their car audio systems. iCruze is an interface that enables the connection of an iPod to a factory or aftermarket radio through either the car’s existing CD changer or satellite radio port. Users can select songs and playlists through either the CD player’s controls or the steering wheel controls. The song information can also be viewed on an optional multi-line, 20-character backlit LCD display. The iCruze will work in “virtually hundreds of different vehicles” and will be available later this month, according to a countdown ticker on the company’s Web site.
