Interbrand has once again named Google as Global Brand of the Year, notes Trevor Datson for Reuters. In addition, Apple claimed the number two spot for the second year in a row. “The Brandchannel poll attracted responses from 4,010 people in 85 countries,” notes the story. “The sole criterion on which brands were ranked was ‘impact,’ which could be positive or negative.” The top ten global brands named in this year’s poll are, in order from number one: Google, Apple, Mini, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Ikea, Nokia, Nike, Sony, and Starbucks.
