Merrill Lynch analyst raises Apple forecast

Merrill Lynch’s Michael Hillmeyer has raised his forecast on Apple after “surprisingly strong” third quarter results from the company. “After seeing the quarterly numbers, Hillmeyer now looks for Jobs & Co. to bring in US$6.75 billion in sales in fiscal 2004, vs. a projected $6.14 billion in the year that ends this September — and up 10% from his previous forecast,” reports BusinessWeek.

naviPod wireless remote for iPod now shipping

Dr. Bott announced today that it is now shipping the naviPod, the first wireless remote control for Apple’s iPod. The naviPod, which was announced in June, consists of a receiver that plugs into the top of the iPod and a 5-button infrared remote control that produces the same functions as the Apple iPod wired remote. It also sports an audio out port and chrome stand. The naviPod sells for US$49.95 and is available for all iPod models, including the latest 3G iPods.

Charismac updates Emulex FC driver for Mac OS X

Charismac today updated its Emulex Fibre Channel host bus adapter (HBA) driver to support Mac OS X. The new driver supports the Emulex LP 6000, 7000 and 8000 series of Light pulse Fibre channel cards. It is only available as part of FibreShare 2.0, the company’s SAN sharing solution that allows multiple users to access shared storage over high-performance Fibre Channel connections.
