David Zeiler’s latest column for the Baltimore Sun gives high praise to Apple’s latest update to Mac OS X, 10.3 (Panther). He concludes, “Whether Panther is worth the money is ultimately up to each Mac user, but the abundance of cool, desirable features will pry open a lot of pocketbooks. Apart from the marquee features, there are dozens more less obvious ones almost as impressive. They all add up to one terribly tempting upgrade.” Incidentally, AP had similar comments and kudos. “The most noticeable changes take advantage of the Mac’s advanced graphics, which leap over the capabilities of Windows-based machines,” notes AP’s story. “Microsoft’s next release, code-named Longhorn, won’t introduce Windows users to similar features until 2006.”
