Apple today announced the release of the public preview of QuickTime 6 and the new QuickTime Broadcaster, which feature support for the MPEG-4 video standard. The preview is avilable for Mac OS 8.6 and later, Mac OS X, and Windows 98 and later, and expires in October 2002. Apple has previously said QuickTime 6 will ship as part of Mac OS X 10.2, which is slated for release late this summer.
