Apple, Akamai extend partnership

Apple has implemented Akamai’s EdgeSuite technology to handle the global distribution of its Movie Trailers content, Akamai announced today. Akamai’s technology, which optimizes delivery of Internet content based on location, already drives large portions of Apple’s site, including software downloads and serving as the backbone for Apple’s QuickTime Streaming Operations.
