OpenLink Software Unleashes New High-Performance Data Access Drivers for
Mac OS X

OpenLink Extends ODBC & JDBC Data Access Middleware Leadership

BURLINGTON, Mass., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ — OpenLink Software, Inc., industry
and technology leaders in the development and deployment of secure,
high-performance database connectivity drivers for ODBC(TM) and JDBC(TM),
announces the commercial release of version 4.2 of its Universal Data
Access Drivers Suite(TM) for Mac(R) OS X.

The new products release includes performance and functionality
enhancements across the entire portfolio of OpenLink’s high-performance
database connectivity drivers for ODBC and JDBC. Support is provided for;
Oracle(R), Microsoft(R) SQL Server(TM), IBM(R), DB2(R) and
Informix(TM)(TM), Sybase(R), CA-Ingres(R), Progress(R), PostgresSQL(R),
MySQL(R), and any other ODBC compliant database engines.

This product release includes the much anticipated high-performance
Single-Tier Drivers that enable direct access to backend database engines
without the installation of any additional software on the Mac OS X clients
or the backend database server machines. A typical use of these drivers
would be direct connectivity connections to Windows(TM) – hosted databases
such as Microsoft SQL Server, and or Linux(R)/UNIX(R) – hosted databases
such as MySQL and PostgresSQL.

“With Release 4.2, UDA for Mac OS X re-emphasizes our unwavering commitment
to unveiling the universal importance of database independence to
application developers and end-users alike on the Macintosh OS platform, we
continue to provide users and developers with their choice of driver
format, across database engines and host operating systems, like no other
vendor in this space,, said Kingsley Idehen, OpenLink Software’s President
& CEO. “Macintosh OS developers have the same data access drivers and SDKs
at their disposal as do their counterparts in other operating system
realms, as a result of our pioneering efforts,” he added.
