Nikon recently announced the Coolpix 5000, a 5.24 megapixel digital camera that represents the company’s top of the line offering. The camera can capture images at resolutions up to 2560×1920 and features a 3x Zoom-Nikkor lens and a 4x digital zoom. Other features include a fully articulating, 1.8-inch LCD screen; a top shutter speed of 1/4,000 second; and White Balance Bracketing and Noise Reduction Mode modes for improving image quality under certain conditions. The Coolpix 5000 is slated to ship in November for US$1,099.95 and will come bundled with a 32MB CompactFlash card.
