TiVo Desktop gets iPhoto 4 support; still no AAC support

TiVo Desktop 1.6 is the latest version of the software for TiVo’s Home Media Option, which lets users automatically stream music and photos from their Mac (via iTunes and iPhoto) to a TiVo Series2 DVR for listening/viewing on a TV. Version 1.6 adds support for the recently introduced iPhoto 4. However, the software still lacks support for AAC audio files, including songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store.

TiVo arrives at Apple Stores

TiVo Digital Video Recorders (DVR) are beginning to arrive at Apple Stores nationwide. The stores are currently carrying two models — a Series 2 DVR model with 40 hours recording time and one with 80 hours recording time. The 40 hour TiVo is priced at US$249, while the 80 hour unit sells for $349. The models we saw today were not being displayed, but were instead still in their boxes under a shelf that showcases various Macs.
