Planar today announced its new PE line of flat-panel monitors, which delivers “excellent performance for cost-conscious buyers.” The 15-inch PE150 (US$289) offers a 1024×768 resolution (XGA), 400:1 contrast ratio, and 200 Nit brightness. The 17-inch PE170 ($429) offers a 1280×1024 resolution (SXGA), 350:1 contrast ratio, and 300 Nit brightness.

Planar Systems today introduced the PX212M, a 21.3-inch flat-panel LCD monitor. The new display offers UXGA (1600×1200) resolution, multiple video inputs (S-video, composite video, analog and digital), picture-in-picture capability, integrated speakers, and a QuadStand base (height, pivot, swivel and tilt adjustments). It has a 400:1 contrast ratio, brightness of 250 cd/m2 and viewing angle of 170 degrees.

Planar Systems today announced the launch of its new family of premium flat-panel desktop monitors featuring “a first-of-its-kind base that provides users with resistance-free swivel, pivot and height adjustments.” The first model in the new PX line is the 17″ PX171M display with ultra-thin bezels and a panel depth of two inches. The display offers 1280 x 1024 resolution, analog and digital (DVI) inputs, 16 ms response time, and integrated speakers.

Planar Systems today announced two new additions to its PL line of LCD displays. The PL170 and PL171M are both 17-inch models, featuring 1280×1024 resolution, 350:1 contrast ratio, and 150-degree horizontal and 125-degree vertical viewing angles. The high-end PL171M offers analog and digital inputs, ultra-slim bezels, integrated speakers, and is available in black, white or silver for US$559.
