Apple offers Motion 30-day trial

Apple is now offering a 30-day trial of Motion, its high-performance motion graphic design and production application. Apple notes that Motion requires “a fast computer with ample memory.” The company officially recommends a dual 2GHz Power Mac G5, 2GB of RAM or more, Mac OS X v10.3.5 or later, and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card or better. To verify if your setup can run the application, Apple has created the Motion Compatibility Checker.

ESPN’s Motion player now available for Mac users

ESPN.com has launched a Mac-compatible version of its Motion video player, which was previously only available for Windows users. The Web browser-based player allows Mac users to watch high quality sports content, create custom video playlists, and does not require you to download additional software. ESPN.com recommends viewing clips in Safari, Netscape, Mozilla and Firefox. The Flash 6 plug-in is required.
