FirmTek has announced the shipment of its anticipated SeriTek/2SE4 PCI-X adapter. Announced at Macworld Expo in San Francisco, the solution provides Macintosh G5 desktops with high-performance Serial ATA connections for up to 20 drives, each with transfer rates as high as 3 gigabits per second.

FirmTek today announced it is now shipping their SeriTek/2SE2-E PCI Express adapter with two external eSATA ports. Announced at NAB, this solution provides a high-performance SATA adapter that delivers the benefits of a modern bus architecture with “SATA II” transfer rates as high as 3GB per second for two external drives.

FirmTek today announced its new external SeriTek/1SE2 Serial ATA PCI host adapter for the Mac. The new adapter extends Serial ATA’s 1.5Gbits/sec performance to the outside of the Macintosh computer chassis, enabling users to take advantage of external Serial ATA enclosures. It offers two external ports and provides hot-swap flexibility similar to that of Universal Serial Bus (USB) and FireWire.

FirmTek today announced its new SeriTek/1S2 Serial ATA PCI host adapter, which “boosts overall system performance offering data transfer rates of up to 150MBytes/sec or 1.5Gbits/sec, resulting in high SCSI-like performance and data protection, without the SCSI price.” Supporting Serial ATA’s longer, thinner, fully insulated cables and smaller 7-pin connectors, SeriTek/1S2 promotes simplified installation and improved airflow, resulting in a cooler Macintosh operating environment when compared to solutions using standard Parallel ATA cables, according to th
