Avid Xpress DV pricing cut

Avid Technology today announced a new version of its award-winning Avid Xpress DV software that will be priced at US$695 (previously $1,699). “This new price enables a much wider audience of DV (digital video) users to take advantage of a professional-strength tool that offers the Avid industry-standard editing interface and more than 100 real-time effects, including automatic expert color correction,” Avid said. Avid announces ‘Experience Avid|DNA’ tour

Avid Technology today announced the launch of its two-month “Experience Avid|DNA” tour, which will make stops in nine cities across the U.S. and Canada to “give customers the opportunity to discuss industry trends, learn new tips and tricks, and get a free, in-depth look at Avid’s revolutionary new product line unveiled at NAB 2003.” The tour will consist of one-day events in each of the nine cities.

Avid updates Xpress DV

Avid Technology has released Avid Xpress DV 3.5.3, the latest version of the company’s professional digital video studio, as noted by VersionTracker. The free update adds support for Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and QuickTime 6, and fixes isolated application crashing and several issues of audio and video drift. Desktop play delay sync and importing Quicktime with an alpha channel has also been fixed. Avid Xpress DV is available for Mac OS X, and sells for US$1,699.
