HTC files infringement claims against Apple

HTC has filed infringement claims against Apple, using patents obtained from Google last week, reports “Bloomberg” (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-07/htc-sues-apple-alleging-infringement-of-four-u-s-patents.html).

The nine patents originated with Palm., Motorola and Openwave Systems, with Google taking ownership within the past year, according to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office records. Google recorded transfer of the patents to HTC on Sept. 1, notes “Bloomberg.”

Syncplicity has announced the availability of its iPad app that brings cloud-based file access and management to iPad users.

From the Apple tablet, Syncplicity users can browse, share and manage files and folders stored on their Mac, PC, SharePoint servers, on the corporate network or in popular cloud-based services such as Google Docs. Another day, another iPad killer launched. The iPad is safe for the time being. Sony launched a pair of tablets that depart from the hardbody, slab format of the Apple tablet. Sony put two smaller screens on either side of a hinge to allow that model to fold iin half for stowing it away. Clever, but won’t that double the connectors and create a potential for failure down the line?
