MacCentric has released Say What 1.0, an application that allows users to remotely launch AppleScripts, Applications, and Documents on a Mac through a Web browser. The Carbon application is compatible with Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X. Individual licenses are US$40; site licenses are $200.

MacPlay has announced that it will release No One Lives Forever, the highly-acclaimed first person shooter, for Mac OS X in Q2 2002. The game features 15 missions across 60 levels, several vehicles to drive—including snowmobiles and motorcycles— an arsenal of ingenious weapons and gadgets, smart enemies that react realistically to your actions, and multiplay for up to 16 players.

Thursby Software has posted a public beta of DAVE 3.1, its software for Mac OS 8.6-10.1 that allows Mac users to access PC networks and network printers. The new version adds support for inkjet printers, as well as support for files larger than 2GB and file names longer than 31 characters. DAVE 3.1 is set to be released next month for US$149. The upgrade will be free for users of DAVE 2.5.2; older users will be able to upgrade for $89.95.

Sony today introduced the Clie PEG-T415, a Palm OS-based handheld that features an infrared port for controlling audio/video equipment. The T415 features a 33MHz Dragonball processor, Palm OS 4.1, 8MB of memory, and can control most DVD players, TVs, VCRs and AV receivers from up to 15 feet away.

James Walker has released PrintToPDF 2.3, an update to his utility for generating PDF documents in virtually any application. The new version makes it possible to save PDF document info and corrects bugs with Microsoft Office and FileMaker Pro.
