If you travel light, you can take an (iPhone) Hint

The iPhone Hint (http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphone-cases/hint-iphone.php) is cute, inexpensive (US$25) and useful for many folks I’m sure. I’m just not one of them.

If you head out and all you need is your Apple smartphone plus a couple of bills and maybe a license or credit card, the Waterfield Design case may fit you like a comfortable glove. You can slip the aforementioned items into the iPhone Hint and be on your way.

Stylus Photo R3000 suited for photographers, fine artists

By Steve Baczewski

The US$849.99 Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer (http://www.epson.com) is for professional photographers and fine artists in a low-volume production setting who demand exhibition-quality color and black-and-white prints.

The R3000 is essentially a smaller tabloid-size version of Epson’s highly regarded Stylus Pro 3880. Some of the benefits handed down are nine-cartridge UltraChrome K3 inks; an eight channel, ink-repellent print head to prevent nozzle clogging (it does); and screening technology.

Opena Case unique, but could be more protective

By David Foster

The US$39.99 Opena Case (http://www.Openacase.com) is the world’s first iPhone 4/4S case and bottle opener in one. It has a hard shell made of polycarbonate.

It is very strong and slick to the touch. The case protects all the edges, but does not cover the screen. The sides of the case rise above the screen slightly offering the screen protection. The case has a very small profile overall.

Atari Arcade is a retro gaming kick

Along the journey of my early gaming life, I owned an Atari 2600, an Atari 5600 and the “we-barely-knew-you” Atari 7800. I miss those game systems, but I can get a retro gaming hit with the US$59.99 Atari Arcade from Atari Discovery Bay Games (http://www.discoverybaygames.com/). Compatible with the iPad and iPad 2, it’s available at Target, Apple retail stores and Apple’s online store (http://www.apple.com) and Toys R Us.
