iHome IDM11 is small, versatile speaker

By Danny Winget

We love our iPhones. We love our iPads. These devices have made it possible to have our favorite music just a tap away in the palm of our hands. So what happens when the built-in speaker of your device is not powerful enough to broadcast music in a room when you want others to hear your favorite song at the moment?

You’ll want to drive this Highway car charger

The Just Mobile Highway from Just Mobile (http://www.just-mobile.com) is an US$34.95 in-car charger for the iPhone, iPad and other USB-powered devices. It can juice up your iDevice and look good while doing it.

Snap Art 3 turns your image into works of art

By Steve Baczewski

Snap Art 3 (USS$199) is Alien Skin’s (http://ww.alienskin.com) latest version of their painting and drawing effects plug-in software for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Elements. And it’s exactly what the name implies — software for quickly transforming photographic images into stylized art.

Software makes it easy to sweep out that photo library

I take photos. Lots of photos. I snap ’em with my digital camera, with my iPhone 4S, and, now, with my new iPad. My iPhoto library has approximately eight trillion images. A lot of them are duplicates, or very similar, and should be trashed. But I’m too lazy to undertake the process manually.

Enter PhotoSweeper (http://overmacs.com/photosweeper/), a photo finder for Mac OS X 10.6 and higher. It’s available at the Mac App Store for US$9.99 and works with both iPhoto and Aperture.
