ROASTER TECHNOLOGIES CLOSING ITS DOORS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

December 11, 1997 Cambridge, Massachusetts. Roaster Technologies’ Board of
Directors this week concluded, regretfully, that the financing necessary to
keep Roaster Technologies a vital concern in the competitive Java developer
tools marketplace was not likely to occur within a reasonable time frame.
The Board also decided to make the technological assets of the company
available for purchase.

All day-to-day business activities will cease immediately.

Apple has incorporated Power’s tech info library content (PowerSource) into
the Apple TIL. They haven’t announced it but Power provided it to them for
posting and it’s up as of 12/8. Just do a search on Power Computing and
you’ll find the articles along with this disclaimer:

Apple Store Becomes Third Largest e-commerce Site in Under 30 Days

CUPERTINO, California–Dec. 10, 1997–Apple Computer, Inc. today reported
that The Apple Store, its new online store (http://www.apple.com/store),
received over $12 million dollars of orders in its first 30 days of
operation. The Apple Store opened its e-doors on Nov. 10, 1997.

“The Apple Store is now one of the top e-commerce sites on the Internet,”
said Steve Jobs, Apple’s interim CEO.

Announcing LANsurveyor 4.0 and Neon Responders

LAFAYETTE, CA – December 10th, 1997 – Neon Software announced today a
radical upgrade to their network mapping application, LANsurveyor. Version
4.0 introduces a new client technology which queries for and displays a
wealth of information about MacOS machines on the network from
LANsurveyor’s easy-to-use map interface.

Frontier 5: Public release of Frontier 5.0/Mac

Frontier 5 is a now a cross-platform product! On Saturday we released the
first public alpha of Frontier, version 5.0a22 for Windows, and today,
12/10/97, we have released the Mac version of the same software.

Why the delay?

There are a core set of features gathered around website building and
system management that work exactly the same on both Mac and Windows.

Our first goal in getting this release out was to get that core set working
properly on both operating systems.
