Stanford University study looks at ‘iPhone addiction’

According to a new Stanford University study, iPhone users are becoming so reliant on their iPhones that they are actually reporting being addicted to their the Apple devices.

Almost half of the respondents in the 200 person study acknowledged an iPhone addiction, reports “The Huffington Post” (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/09/iphone-addiction-study-pa_n_490748.html). Students were asked to rate their addiction to their iPhones on a scale of one to five, from “not at all addicted” to “fully addicted.” 45% answered with a four or above.

EFF criticizes the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) — an organization founded to promote rights in the online and networked world — has blasted the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement, saying that the “entire family of devices built on the iPhone OS (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad) have been designed to run only software that is approved by Apple – a major shift from the norms of the personal computer market.”
