Silo’s fourth and final season will be succeeded by an expansion/spinoff at Apple TV, according to an X post by Sigmund Judge.
“I am told that the upcoming project – beginning pre-production later this year – will tie into Hugh Howey’s highly anticipated Silo 40 book trilogy, expected to publish next summer,” he says.
About Silo season four
In September Apple TV announced that the world-building drama will return for its fourth and final season on July 9, 2027. The company also unveiled a sneak peek at the final chapter of the series hailing from Emmy Award-winning creator Graham Yost, and starring and executive produced by Rebecca Ferguson.
Based on Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy, season three of “Silo” reveals an origin story set centuries earlier, while continuing the saga of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious circumstances. In the present, Juliette Nichols (Ferguson) survives her forced “cleaning” but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat. Meanwhile, in the “Before Times,” journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) uncover a conspiracy that pulls them into a chain of events with catastrophic, irreversible consequences.
About the Silo 40 book trilogy
Howey’s primary Silo series is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi trilogy made up of Wool (2011), Shift (2013), and Dust (2013), often bundled alongside companion short stories (such as Silo Stories). Silo 40 refers to a planned, separate follow-up project. that centers specifically on Silo 40, following its history from before the events of Wool through after the events of Dust.
