The Apple vs Epic Games gives new meaning to the phrase “the never-ending story.” And, as AppleInsider notes, there’s a new development.
Last month Apple filed a request with the Supreme Court in an attempt to reverse key lower court rulings over the App Store injunction in its long-running legal battle with Epic Games. Then on June 4, 2026, Epic Games demanded that Apple’s appeal over the case be thrown out.
Now Apple has filed its response which, unsurprisingly, defends its right to appeal in a 12-page filing. As AppleInsider notes “the short version” of Apple’s response to Epic’s 35-page filing, boils down to the same two key issues that Epic has tried to describe as too unimportant to warrant the appeal.
This is just the latest step in the years-long legal battle. This legal brouhaha between the two companies has been ongoing for years. You can read all about it here.
