A demonstration was held at Apple’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City on the afternoon of Black Friday. According to The Mirror, dozens of pro-Palestinian and anti-Apple protestors showed up for the protest. According to bystanders, things quickly escalated, resulting in multiple arrests.

The Mirror says protesters accused Apple of benefiting from exploitative cobalt mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo and criticized Apple’s alleged ties to ICE and President Donald Trump.

On November 26, a U.S.-based advocacy group filed a lawsuit in Washington accusing Apple of using minerals linked to conflict and human rights abuses in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda despite the tech giant’s denials, reports Reuters.

I’ve heard nothing about any Apple ties to ICE (which I very much doubt), but I, too, have complained about CEO Tim Cook kowtowing to Trump.
