Apple will offer several new watch face options to take advantage of the larger screen size of the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 models, according to Bloomberg. The smartwatch display is expected to come in 41mm and 45mm models. That’s up from the current 40mm and 44mm sizes.

Bloomberg, quoting unnamed sources, says the 45mm Apple Watch will have a resolution of 396-by-484 pixels, up from 368-by-448 pixels. That means the device will have a screen that can fit about 16% more pixels.

Other rumored features of the Apple Watch Series 7 include:

° It will have a new design and speaker grills.

° It will pack a smaller “S7” chip that would leave more room for a larger battery or other components.

° It be offered in a green hue.

° It will sport a faster processor.

° It will sport a “new lamination technique” that raises the watch’s display closer to the top cover.

° It will borrow updated ultra-wideband technology from the Apple AirTag key finder.

I expect to see the next gen smartwatch go on sale late this month or in October. We’ll see then which rumors are on target.
