Actor Jamie Bell (“Rocketman” and “Billy Elliot) has joined the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ original series “Shining Girls,” according to Variety.

The BAFTA Award-winner will play the role of Harper in the metaphysical thriller. Variety says Harper is described as a mysterious loner with a surprising connection to Moss’ character, Kirby. Kirby is a Chicago reporter who survived a brutal assault only to find her reality shifting as she hunts down her attacker. Moura will play Dan, a veteran journalist breaking the widening story of a copycat attack.

“Shining Girls” is a “metaphysical thriller” based on the 2013 best-selling novel by Lauren Beukes and starring Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Mad Men,” “The Invisible Man”).

Hailing from MRC Television, the series will be adapted for television and executive produced by Silka Luisa, who will also serve as showrunner. Moss will star as a Chicago reporter who survived a brutal assault only to find her reality shifting as she hunts down her attacker.
