Apple was awarded a Technology & Engineering Emmy on Thursday evening during a ceremony at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, reports “Cult of Mac” (http://tinyurl.com/9ww27yw).

The Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards honor “development and innovation in broadcast technology and recognize companies, organizations and individuals for breakthroughs in technology that have a significant effect on television engineering.”

Apple’s award is for its “Eco-system for Real Time Presentation of TV Content to Mobile Devices without the use of Specialized Television Hardware.” It’s not entirely clear which of Apple’s services this relates to, but it’s thought that it relates to one of the Cupertino company’s cloud-based infrastructures, notes “Cult of Mac.”
