CoreMelt has released its SliceX product for Final Cut Pro X. It’s available for Mac OS X 10.6.8 or higher and Final Cut Pro X 10.0.5 or later.

SliceX speeds workflow for editors by letting them quickly draw freeform shapes for masking, color correction, depth of field or vignettes. This facility is available directly in the viewer using custom FCP X onscreen controls.

“As a working editor I was frustrated that I had only basic oval masks in FCP X,” says Roger Bolton, CoreMelt founder and director. “Going into Motion to create a simple shape for masking is a painful bottleneck that slows down the editors creative flow. With SliceX editors can do more directly on the timeline, saving complicated back and forth workflows.”

SliceX is available for a limited time for US$49; the regular price is $79. For more info go to the CoreMelt web site (www.coremelt.com).
