China Unicom said Sunday its supply of iPhone 4 handsets isn’t enough to meet demand but that it will boost its stock as quickly as possible, as sales began at a much faster pace than when the network operator first launched older versions of the iPhone last year, reports “MarketWatch” (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/china-unicom-says-iphone-4-supply-short-of-demand-2010-09-26?).

Apple has released iTunes 10.0.1. You can obtain it via the Software Updates component of Mac OS X’s Systems Preferences app.

The update adds a Ping sidebar in which you can “Like” or “Post” about music from your iTunes library. Plus, you can see the recent Ping activity of a selected artist in your library, or of all artists and friends you follow on Ping. iTunes 10.0.1 also fixes several bugs; namely it:

° Addresses an issue where the picture quality of a video changes depending on whether the on-screen controls are visible;

Apple, Google and four other companies are negotiating an agreement with the U.S. Justice Department to end practices that limit hiring of each other’s employees, reports “Bloomberg” (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-09-24/google-apple-intel-said-poised-for-u-s-agreement-on-hiring.html?), quoting “people familiar with the emerging accord.”
