Survey: most iOS app developers making more cash than first expected

Developers are making more money than they’d initially expected they could by selling apps on the Apple App Store, according to an Open-First’s survey of coders, reports “The Register” (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/09/29/apple_app_store_satisfaction/).

Forty-eight percent told an Open-First survey conducted between Aug, 30 and Sept. 10 that the amount of money they’re making on the App Store was more than they’d expected. Open-First gathered data from 110 developers using an online questionnaire and a phone follow-up.

China Unicom sells 100,000 iPhone 4s in four days

China Unicom sold 100,000 iPhone 4s in the first four days the Apple smartphone was on sale in China, reports the IDG News Service (http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9188599/China_Unicom_sells_100_000_iPhone_4s_in_first_four_days?source=rss_news).

Earlier in the week, the mobile carrier reported that 200,000 users had pre-ordered the product. China Unicom has already stopped online reservations for iPhone 4, and is instead asking users to come directly to retail stores to sign up for the device, says IDG.
