World of Warcraft: Cataclysm in stores Dec. 7

Blizzard Entertainment says World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm), the third expansion for the subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game, will be released starting on December 7.

The expansion will be available on DVD-ROM for Mac OS X and Window at a suggested retail price of US$39.99 and will also be offered as a digital download from the Blizzard Store. A special Collector’s Edition packed with bonus items will be available exclusively in retail stores for a suggested retail price of $79.99.

‘MUG Event Calendar’: Office 2011, Panorama, more

October is shaping up to be a very active month on “The MUG Event Calendar.”

Two MacNotables will be visiting groups in their home stats this week. Adam Engst of “TidBITS “and Take Control will visit a New York group, and “Macworld” Senior Editor Christopher Breen will present to a California group. Barcode Producer update adds Send to InDesign button

Apparent Corp. has updated Barcode Producer (http://www.itsapparent.com/barcodeproducer/), its barcode creation software suite for Mac OS X, to version 6.1. It adds a Send to InDesign button and now works correctly with Adobe InDesign CS5.

There’s also a new Copy Picture menu option designed to make it easy to simply “copy and paste” barcodes from Barcode Producer to the document you’re working on. Code 39 barcodes is a new feature for adding asterisks to the human readable text below the barcode.
