As first noted by “Patently Apple” (http://www.patentlyapple.com), a new European patent filing (publication number WO2010126782) has emerged that describes a new system of “scrollable menus and toolbars” — apparently for both Mac OS X and iOS

Some embodiments of the invention provide a method that defines several menu items having a particular order. The method provides a display area for displaying a portion of the menu items in the particular order. The method provides a selection window in the display area for indicating that a menu item is presently selectable.

iWork ’11 waiting for launch of Mac App Store?

“AppleInsider” (http://www.appleinsider.com) says iWork ’11 is ready to go and is simply waiting for Apple to launch the Mac App Store.

Introduced at October’s “Back to the Mac” event, the Mac App Store will be built into Mac OS X Lion, when it prowls in 2011. However, Apple is releasing a version for Mac OS X 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”) before year’s end.

DxO Labs (http://www.dxo.com) has released the latest version of its image enhancement software for photographers: DxO Optics Pro 6.5. Along with providing photographers with high dynamic range (HDR) capability from a single RAW image, version 6.5 improves accessibility and productivity.
