Pearson is releasing four new books for Mac programmers including
“Cocoa Design Patterns,” “iPhone for Programmers,” “Sams Teach
Yourself Cocoa Touch Programming in 24 Hours” and “Sams Teach
Yourself iPhone Application Development in 24 Hours.”

QNAP adds new 4-Drive Turbo NAS server

QNAP Systems (http://www.qnap.com), a provider of NAS servers, NVR
video surveillance systems, and network-based video players — has
expanded their Turbo NAS lineup with the addition of the TS-410
desktop NAS server targeted specifically at the SOHO (small
office/home office) and prosumer market segments. It will be
available in October; pricing hasn’t been announced.

The TS-410 features four hot-swappable SATA hard drives with up to
8TB of total capacity (with 2TB drives) and supports 2.5-inch or
3.5-inch hard drives.

Netgear (http://www.Netgear.com) has launched the RangeMax Wireless-N
Gigabit Router with USB, a wireless-N router. It offers
high-performance wireless range and speed along with Gigabit Ethernet
ports and ReadyShare USB storage access, according to Som Pal
Choudhury, senior product line manager for advanced wireless at
Netgear.

The RangeMax Wireless-N Gigabit Router with USB is also designed to
serve as an open source Linux platform supporting a variety of
applications created by multiple development partners and the open

Digieffects launches Aged Film for $29

Digieffects (http://www.digieffects.com), a developer of visual
effects software plug-ins, has released Aged Film. It costs US$29 and
creates an aged “old movie look”, an effect which helps viewers
understand what era the shot is set and believe that the story is set
in the past.

Aged Film supports Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Final Cut
Pro, Grass Valley Edius, Autodesk Combustion and Boris RED.
