Nemetschek North America says the second edition of Vectorworks
Architect and Essentials tutorial manuals from Jonathan Pickup are
now available for purchase. These tutorials offer Vectorworks
software users a method of learning, combining step-by-step
instructions written in a conversational tone with movies.

The tutorials are based on version 2010 but can be used with prior
versions of Vectorworks software. The “Vectorworks Essentials
Tutorial Manual” is a designed for anyone new to Vectorworks.

Prentice Hall is releasing an iPhone programming book for
professional programmers.

Telestream (http://www.telestream.net/screenflow) has updated
ScreenFlow, a “professional screencasting studio” for Mac OS X 10.5
(“Leopard”), to version 2.0. With the upgrade, you can upload and
directly publish screencasts to YouTube.

ScreenFlow 2.0 also adds advanced editing capabilities and
transitions across clips.

Native Instruments has introduced Scarbee MM-Bass
(http://www.native-instruments.com/Scarbee-mmbass.info), a new
software instrument designed to provide an authentic rendition of the
distinctive Musicman Sterling electric bass.

MM-Bass is based on the Scarbee Black Bass library, and is the latest
release in the partnership between Native Instruments and sampling
expert Thomas Hansen Skarbye.

Iospirit has released Candelair and HIDRemote for Mac OS X. The
former is an alternative driver for the built-in IR receiver as found
in many Macs today. It provides a “clean, global fix for AppleRemote
issues many users are experiencing with third party applications
under Snow Leopard releases 10.6 and 10.6.1,” the company says.

It’s based on Remote Buddy’s

packaged in a preference pane that presents all remote control
options at a glance.
