Solid State Logic (http://www.solid-state-logic.com) — a
manufacturer of analogue and digital audio consoles and provider of
creative tools for music, broadcast and post production professionals
— has announced the release of X-Desk at Musikmesse 2009. It will be
available beginning in May 2009 at a manufacturer’s suggested retail
price of US$2,899.

The X-Desk is a portable, compact mixing desk. It combines a 16
channel SSL SuperAnalogue summing mixer with a compact analogue audio
hub for a studio.

iPresentee (http://www.ipresentee.com), a developer of add-ons for
Apple’s iWork and iLife applications, has released free Easter Mail
Stationery templates to be used with Apple’s Mail software. The
package includes 10 templates.

Creating an e-mail with Easter Mail Stationery templates is exactly
the same as creating an e-mail using the ordinary Mail Stationery
templates. Messages created with Easter Mail Stationery can be read
by popular webmail services and email programs on both Macs and PCs.

Apple has announced an updated Xserve that the company says delivers
up to twice the performance of the previous system. Using Intel
“Nehalem” Xeon processors and a next generation system architecture,
the 1U rack-optimized Xserve delivers up to an 89 percent improvement
in performance per watt, according to David Moody, Apple’s vice
president of Worldwide Mac Product Marketing.

Xserve is available with up to two 2.93GHz Intel Xeon processors and
storage options that include a low-power solid state drive (SSD) and
up to 3TB of internal storage.

NewPCgadgets has introduced the US$16.95 Comfort Base
(http://www.newpcgadgets.com/products/comfortbase/index.html), a
product for accessing your iPod or iPhone while they’re on your
desktop. The Comfort Base can position directly behind your keyboard
or mouse to provide access and viewing while minimizing space.

It can also stand alone. The Comfort Base includes a soft padded wrist rest.

sound effects label, has announced Blastwave FX Search Engine
software for the Mac and PC. The Blastwave FX Search Engine is
single-user search software that comes bundled on select Blastwave FX
sound effects hard drive products.

The search engine provides search, audition and drag and drop
functions. It’s bundled with all of Blastwave FX’s sound effects hard
drive libraries, including Sonopedia, BlastDrive, TitleWave and
.wavFX.
