Troi Automatisering has released Troi Grabber
Plug-in 1.9b0 for FileMaker Pro 10. The new beta
plug-in for FileMaker Pro 10 adds powerful image
and movie capture functions.

Troi Grabber is a tool for grabbing images from a
video input source and putting them directly into
a FileMaker container field. All from within
FileMaker Pro 10 you can: preview the image
stream from the video input source; crop pictures
to grab only the desired part of the video image,
rotate pictures before grabbing, grab pictures
from a video input source and put them into your
FileMaker database, record a movie from a video
input source for a specified number of seconds or
until the mouse is clicked and save the movie to
a specified file on the hard disk, and get
timecodes of a recorded movie; you can get the
timecode of the beginning of the movie, of the
end of the movie, the timecode at the current
point in the movie or the duration of the movie
in timecode

Troi Grabber Plug-in 1.9b0 adds these new functions and features:

° The plug-in is now compatible with FileMaker
Pro 9 and 10 (older versions of FileMaker are not
supported).

° It’s converted to the function API (application
programming interface) of FileMaker Pro 7. It’s
now also a Universal plug-in which runs natively
on PowerPC and Intel Macs.

° It adds support for the QTKit framework. This
technology allows you to grab images and movies
in a separate window.

° It converted the “classic” grabbing functions
to work with FileMaker 9 and 10; with this
technology the preview is still shown inside the
FileMaker window itself.

° The new version makes use of the extended
possibilities of the FileMaker Pro 7 API. For
example the grabbed images, instead of using the
clipboard, are now returned as a binary type,
allowing for easy setting into a container field.
