Eye-Fi (http://www.eye.fi), which makes a wireless memory card for
digital cameras, and SmugMug (http://www.smugmug.com), an online
photo sharing site, announced a partnership that will provide free
geotagging and hotspot access for SmugMug members using an Eye-Fi
Share card or original Eye-Fi Card.

The Eye-Fi cards automatically upload pictures from a digital camera
to a computer and to the web for photo sharing. For a limited time,
Eye-Fi Share and Eye-Fi Card users who choose SmugMug for photo
sharing will receive one year of free hotspot access, allowing photo
uploads on-the-go from more than 10,000 Wayport hotspots, and
geotagging, which automatically adds geographic information to each
photo to indicate where the image was taken.

“SmugMug users who have Eye-Fi cards love how easy it is to upload
photos and share those memories in cool ways on our site. Our photo
map has become extremely popular and sets us apart from other online
sharing sites,” said Chris MacAskill, president and co-founder of
SmugMug. “This opportunity makes it even easier for people to spend
more time enjoying their photos, and less time uploading and tagging
their images.”

Through the end of this year, existing SmugMug members and those who
sign up for a new account can automatically upgrade their Eye-Fi
Share or Eye-Fi Card to include one year of free geotagging and
hotspot access. Also through the end of this year, SmugMug will
provide new and existing members a 20% discount on their membership
plans.

“SmugMug offers one of the best photo mapping applications on the Web
today, and SmugMug members will now be able to take advantage of
Eye-Fi’s automatic geotagging,” said Ziv Gillat, co-founder and VP of
business development for Eye-Fi. “Together, we’re making sure that
even more users can enjoy their photos in unique ways.”

SmugMug is a family-owned and operated photo sharing and storing
site. It offers premier services to amateur and professional
photographers without the outside pressures of other online photo
destinations. SmugMug backs-up its users’ photos to three servers
across the United States to ensure the images are safe and secure.

Eye-Fi’s family of products, including the Eye-Fi Home, Share and
Explore cards that range from $79-$129 USD, can be purchased at major
online retail locations or at Circuit City and Ritz Camera Centers
nationwide.
