February 01, 2007 – The utility “Export Address Book” is the only
software solution that is able to export *all* contact informations
from selected Address Book contacts into various formats (TSV, CSV,
HTML, vCard). You are able to select which contacts to export, which
fields from those contacts and how to order them. Compared to other
applications, fields with self-defined labels are also supported. The
exported data can be used as data sources for Microsoft Word mail
merges, to synchronize FileMaker databases or to import contacts into
your favourite web-based email service.
The new version comes with AppleScript support to automate exports.
This is useful if you need another export format than TSV (the
built-in Automator action will only export to a text file with
tab-separated values). Furthermore, you can now save any combination
of Address Book items and fields as a default for new documents. Some
minor user interface improvements were also implemented.
“Export Address Book” is available as an Universal Binary for Macs
with Intel or PowerPC processors and needs Mac OS X 10.4 or newer and
the Apple Address Book. A demo version can be downloaded under
(http://software.dibomedia.de/ExportAddressBook). The full version
costs 12,50 EUR (plus VAT).
