ZAP today announced the introduction of a new series of lithium battery packs designed specifically to work with the iPod. Called iZAP, the battery accessories for the iPod are part of a new line of ZAP Portable Energy systems to power a wide range of mobile electronics. The iZAP’s Portable Energy chargers and power packs are designed to work in conjunction with the iPod, including the iPod mini, iPod shuffle, iPod nano and the iPod with video. ZAP says that the iZAP designed for the iPod shuffle can extend listening time up to 60 hours. The lithium-ion battery system can be recharged up to 1,000 times and has up to four times the power of conventional batteries, notes the company.
