Apple Expo 2005 dates announced

Apple Expo 2005 will take place in Paris from September 20 to 24. While little details are known about the event so far, it will be held at the Porte de Versailles, Hall 5. At last year’s Apple Expo, Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of product marketing, introduced the iMac G5 while Apple CEO Steve Jobs was recovering from surgery.

He has selections by Van Morrison, whose ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ is a Bush favorite, and by John Fogerty, most predictably ‘Centerfield,’ which was played at Texas Rangers games when Mr. Bush was an owner and is still played at ballparks all over America.

M-Audio unveils iControl for GarageBand

M-Audio has announced iControl, the first dedicated hardware controller specifically designed for Apple’s GarageBand. “iControl delivers total tactile control over GarageBand. Dedicated transport buttons and jog wheel put record and playback functions at your fingertips. Its eight rotary encoders are easily assigned to track functions like volume and pan, or to parameters for effects such as GarageBand’s EQ or any other AU plug-in.
