SoftRAID 3.2 Ships; 4 Petabyte volumes and Full Tiger Compatibility

SoftRAID, LLC is pleased to announce the shipping of SoftRAID version 3.2,
with full Mac OS 10.4 compatibility. SoftRAID 3.2 can now create startup
DVDs with Tiger, and can update previous versions of the SoftRAID startup
CD to the latest version.

SOFTRAID 3.2 takes full advantage of the new disk driver architecture built
into Mac OS 10.4.

Apple to Use Intel Microprocessors Beginning in 2006

WWDC 2005, SAN FRANCISCO–June 6, 2005–At its Worldwide Developer
Conference today, Apple announced plans to deliver models of its Macintosh
computers using Intel microprocessors by this time next year, and to
transition all of its Macs to using Intel microprocessors by the end of
2007. Apple previewed a version of its critically acclaimed operating
system, Mac OS X Tiger, running on an Intel-based Mac to the over 3,800
developers attending CEO Steve Jobs’ keynote address.

smsZap allows text clipping to be sent to mobiles

Bayham Systems has announced smsZap 1.0.0, a new tool for Mac OS 10.3 and above that allows users to select text from within their applications and send it to their own phone, select a number from Address Book, or type in a new number. The mobile phone does not have to be connected to or synced with the Mac to make this work. Instead messages are sent via the Internet to the smsZap Service Centre, where they are then passed to the mobile networks. Messages can be delivered to 471 mobile networks across 165 countries. smsZap is a freeware application.

The Sims 2 for Macintosh to arrive in stores by June 17

Aspyr Media today announced they are set to begin shipping The Sims 2 for Mac and expect the title on retail shelves in the US by June 17, 2005. The Sims 2 was developed for the Mac by Aspyr Studios, Aspyr’s internal development team, under license from Electronic Arts. “More life-like Sims, all-new aspirational gameplay, and the ground-breaking addition of genetics, with the DNA of Sims passed down through generations, gives players a more vivid, realistic, and in-depth Sims experience.
