Nikon today unveiled two new compact Coolpix digital cameras — the 5.1-megapixel Nikon Coolpix 5900 and the 7.1-megapixel Nikon Coolpix 7900. The new, all-metal digital cameras feature a 2-inch LCD screen and the new Face-priority AF feature. In addition, both the Coolpix 5900 and 7900 offer Nikon’s In-Camera Red-Eye Fix technology, which detects and corrects red eyes in most typical situations without the need to press buttons or select and highlight the eyes in playback. The Coolpix 5900 will be available in March 2005 for US$349.95, while the Coolpix 7900 will be available in April 2005 for $449.95.
