Even though it appears more customers were waiting in line for iPod shuffles Saturday, Apple’s low-cost Mac mini is selling very well at the company’s online store and at other computer retailers. Apple is now stating that Mac mini orders may take three to four weeks to ship. “It’s a good sign; obviously people are excited about it,” said Tim Deal, an industry analyst with Technology Business Research. But he added, “You want to be able to meet demand at this stage of game, or it’s a good way to destroy your brand loyalty.” Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris said the initial response to the Mac mini has been “incredible,” but declined to say whether the company had enough to meet initial demand. “As with any new product, demand is difficult to predict,” Kerris said. “We’re working very hard to ramp production of both new products as fast as we can.”
